Nine Men’s Morris
LED
board game
A strategy board game for two players dating back at least to the Roman Empire. The pegs and peg holes of traditional board have been replaced with LED lights and toggle switches.
Two players sit on opposite sides. One side is red player, and the other is white. Either player presses down on the right side of a toggle switch to turn on the corresponding red or white light representing symbolic placement of a peg. Turning off a light by placing toggle switch off position (middle position) represents symbolic removal of a peg.
The lights are powered by a 9V battery located in the center of the board. The battery case has an on/off switch. A game can be interrupted/delayed by simply turning off the 9V battery switch. The board can be stored and reactivated any time later. The in progress game status can resume by turning the power switch back on. |
The game board was designed to allow it to be folded approximately in half for storge convenience. Note the two expansion springs, they are the 9V conductors for LED lights. The bottom side is enclosed in plexaglass. |
The little red thing on the left is counter used to keep track of the number of men placed on the board (max of 9). |
